Little River Rotary Inducts Former Interact Officer

The Little River Rotary Club inducted Nolan Micah Black into membership during the Wednesday, July 20th noon meeting.  Nolan was an Interact member and Vice President of his high school Interact Club.  We’re pleased to have Nolan as a new member!  Said Nolan, “I am privileged to become a part of an international organization that does so much like eradicating polio to the Blue Crab Festival to scholarships for local youth, and other civic endeavors to make this community and the world a better place. Rotary Foundation Celebrates 100th Anniversary

This week we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation, the not-for-profit organization created to administer Rotary International’s charitable programs.

Fund-Raising Director Marty Richardson presents a check for $2000 to Kris Tourtellotte, Director of Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center in Little River, SC.  Checks for $2000 each were also presented to Teen Angels Director Renee Hembree, and to North Strand Housing Shelter Director, Dana Black-Bolch.  Funds for these grants were raised during our annual “Spirits of Giving” fundraiser.

Little River Rotary Awards Scholarships

2016 Scholarships

Rotary Club of Little River presents scholarships to North Myrtle Beach High School graduates.   

Jason Hager and Dequan Montgomery were presented with educational scholarship awards of $1,000 each to be used for their attendance in the fall at Coastal Carolina University.   These two students are shining examples of academic excellence, community service, involvement in sports, and clubs during their high school years.

Club hosts Interact Club Officers

The Rotary Club of Little River hosted their Interact Club officers, Joseph Mabry, Joshua Mabry, Katilynn Funderburk and Shiloh Widener, from North Myrtle Beach Christian School to hear about their International and Community projects.  Fawn Wright, their club advisor, accompanied them at the luncheon.

Donna Levinski, Youth Services Director, presented Katilynn Funderburk with a certification of appreciation for her participation as the photographer for the “Spirits of Giving” Fundraiser.   Joseph Mabry, our 4 way test essay winner, was presented with a scholarship check for $1,000 to be used for his college education fund.

2nd Annual “Spirits of Giving”

“The Rotary Club of Little River would like to cordially invite you to attend our 2nd Annual “Spirits of Giving” event. It will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Parson’s Table in Little River, S.C. We will be offering wine, spirits and beer tastings and heavy hors d’oeuvres. There will also be live and silent auctions as well as various raffles throughout the evening.

“Spirits of Giving” Event

The Rotary Club of Little River is hosting a “Spirits of Giving” event on Thursday, January 22, 2015, 6 – 9 pm at the Parson’s Table resturant in Little River, SC.  There will be several wine tasting stations, a burbon and beer room, Irish whiskies (with an Irish coffee station), and heavy hors d’oeuvres.  Support our local charitable organizations through the live and silent auctions, and various raffles.
